Join the community on June 27, 2026, for Midland Celebrates 250 in STEM Education; a citywide celebration of innovation, discovery, and hands-on learning across three iconic locations in Midland. Sunrise Kickoff at the Petroleum Museum The day begins at sunrise with a spectacular ExxonMobil hot air balloon at the Petroleum Museum, visible through the early morning hours until 10:00 AM. Thanks to a powerful partnership between the Petroleum Museum, Sibley Nature Center, Museum of the Southwest, ExxonMobil, Diamondback Energy, and Midland Independent School District, families can enjoy a full day of interactive STEM activities, giveaways, and immersive experiences. • Free museum admission begins at 8:00 AM • STEM activities run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM • Food trucks throughout the day

Step Back in Time at the Bush Family Home State Historic Site STEM education meets history. Families will explore technologies and inventions from the era when the Bush family lived in Midland, with engaging, hands-on sessions offered throughout the day: • 10:30 AM • 11:30 AM • 1:15 PM • 2:00 PM • 3:00 PM

Evening Celebration at RockHounds Stadium Wrap up the day at Momentum Bank Ballpark (home of the Midland RockHounds) with an evening of STEM and community fun. • Watch the ExxonMobil hot air balloon inflate before the game (5pm) and glow into the evening sky • Experience interactive STEM engagement led by Midland ISD • Enjoy a perfect blend of science, sports, and community celebration
